The one year goal

In one year, or thereabouts, I should have made the leap to freelancer. Or a part time agency, if you will.

The aim is to spend more time with my family.

I intend to do this by earning less. Working less. I imagine I can work 4 hours a day, supplemented with a few days a month contracting, if necessary.

I’ve always thought I should be earning as much as I can, so I can retire early. It turns out, no matter how much I earn, I still don’t seem to be able to see the end of the tunnel.

I want to spend my time with my family while I can. While I’m fun to be around and while I’m fit enough to join in the games.

I can work hard later. When my body has given up the ghost and all I can do is sit in a chair - that’s when I can get a job in an office if need be.

Of course you never know, it all might work out perfectly and I’ll never have to work for ‘the man’ again.
